Alloy C276
About Alloy C276
Alloy C276, also known as Hastelloy C276*, has excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of chemical process environments including those with ferric and cupric chlorides. Alloy C276 has excellent resistance to pitting and to stress-corrosion cracking. It is one of the few materials that withstands the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide.
*Hastelloy C276 is a trademark of Haynes International
Alloy C276 is typically used in applications such as:
- Pollution control stack liners, scrubbers, stack-gas reheaters
- Flue gas desulfurization systems
